CVC U19 Boys Team Are One Win Away from Semi Finals

by Andy D’Alessandro

The CVC boys U19 squad went into action again last week against strong opposition from Bromsgrove school in the National Schools Trophy match.
We had our strongest side out yet to meet the travelling team at our home courts.

1. Ed Wheeler
2. Malik Bilen
3. Haydn Davies
4. Albert Elmes
5. Nathan Ginn

This was a must-win tie to see us progress to the penultimate round before the chance to travel to Manchester for the Semis and finals. It was a good day and we won the fixture 5-0, playing against a much older team of sixth formers. This means we now play against Dr Challoners school in Berkhampstead for a chance to go to Manchester.

I’ve taken the boys and girls to Manchester on multiple occasions and it is a good day out for all concerned.
It gives the boys and girls a chance to participate in a big event that is well run and very well attended.

The last time I went it was with the U19 boys and I was lucky enough to have the support of Ray who, coincidently, happened to be visiting relatives at the time in Manchester. It was good to share time with him then and I would dearly love to go back and ‘Do it’ for Ray with the club that he supported and nurtured so very well.

Fingers crossed and we’ll be there
