About the Club
Membership fees at Comberton are all-inclusive so once you have paid for the year there are no lights, court or booking fees. We still(September 2015) provide the cheapest full membership in the county. Juniors can attend the saturday morning practice and coaching sessions, run by our volunteer coaches, for free.
The Junior section has long been the pride of the club. The success is down to the hard work, commitment and organisation of our coaches as well as the dedication of the juniors themselves. In 2012 we were the only club in the county to enter teams in all 4 junior divisions and we won three of them! Comberton juniors have also represented both the Village College and Hills Road Sixth Form College in the National Schools Competition.
Comberton currently fields three club teams and two ladies teams in the county leagues.
The club boasts one professional coach, Andy D’Alessandro. Andy is charged with providing coaching support throughout the club – structured coaching for juniors and support to Club Night. Andy also provides private paid tuition and group coaching sessions. Andy is an ESR Level 3 coach, fully licensed and CRB-checked. Dave Bradbury is an ESR level 2 licensed coach. Marcus Edwards and Ben Banks are licensed level 1 coaches. Other club members have trained as Level 1 (Kevin Marlow) or 2 (Mike Macnamee, Ashok Babbar, Martyn Symmons) coaches. All (except Andy) act as volunteer coaches for the juniors.
