Well played to all on the team this week in the cup match against St Ivo. It was a narrow loss for us finally. The early strings were easy – both Stuart and Tom Parker quickly got the measure of their opponents. But Harry and Graham faced much more difficult matches – both narrowly losing 2:3. Tom S. at #1 could not turn the match around after losing the first two games to a deceptively quick and hard hitting player. He made a good recovery in the third by slowing the game effectively, but then his opponent regained control to close out the string and the match for St Ivo.
League matches stop now until second week of January. Let’s try to keep the training going as we know the early matches of next half are the most challenging opponents. Hope to keep Harry with us for as many of those as possible.
