The Ray Scrivens Memorial Tournament was held on the first weekend after New Year with four teams vying for the top prize of a small box of chocolate.
A fantastic turnout, combined with enthusiastic application of forfeits combined to raise £271 for the juniors. The most popular forfeit was to make your opponent play with an old fashioned wooden racket, but contestants also had to contend with playing with a tiny racket, rackets with missing strings, playing with both hands tied together, PAR vs HIHO scoring, no back wall and many more. Four teams played against one another with strings 1-6 playing for 8 minutes continuous with an option to pay a small fine to release you from your forfeit at 4 minutes in. The winning team was the one that accumulated the highest total points score across all games.
