Club members came together of February 11th to raise money for the Juniors at the annual Ray Scrivens memorial tournament. The usual Christmas format was this year replaced by a valentines theme, but there was not much love in evidence between teams as competitors sought to gain advantage through the purchase of handicaps to inflict on their opposite numbers. Teams of four players competed against each other.
There were many fun (vicious?) handicaps to chose from, but the most popular were :
- Every shot long
- Racket with a hole in the middle
- Racket with four strings
- Playing in a 10kg vest
The winning team was Ashok, Sue, Keith and Bertie. £180 was raised on the day from entrance fees and the purchase of handicaps. The money will be used to purchase equipment for junior coaching.
