Dear Squashing Reindeers,
Thank you all for participating in the competition and making it so much fun. I’m sure that Ray would have been pleased to see so many people charging around in silly hats in the run-up to Christmas.
The kitty came to a total of £145 so thank you all for your generous donations. An email will go out to all juniors advertise the funds soon.
As this is Cambridge and I know that there are some numbers geeks amongst you, I thought I would provide a little numerical post-match analysis:-
Highest Score in a Single Match
This was achieved by David Downes (Team Prancer) who finished one game with a score of 32. However, this wasn’t a complete walkover as his opponent, Sam Pritchard finished with a score of 15, making this the highest scoring match in the whole competition.
Hardest Fought Match
All about lots of points and a close score at the end. The hardest fought match was between, David Downes (again) and Debra Stephenson (Prancer vs Dasher) which finished 22-20. Now we know why David said he couldn’t play this format every week.
Highest Team Score in a Single Match
This was achieved by Team Prancer who scored 92 points when playing Team Comet.
Individual Scores
The average individual score was 84.3 points (that’s one for the proper geeks). Five people scored over 100 (Will Harris, Rob Snelling, David Downes, Sam Hicks and Andrew Warne). Sam Hicks scored the highest individual score of 125. Well done Sam!
Winning Team
Team Dancer consisting of Jeremy Harris, Keith Maloney, Rob Snelling and Hayden Davies with Nick Harris as sub won with a total score of 371. Well done! In hindsight I should have taken a team photo of you all – something to remember for next year.
Christmas Spirit Prize
This went to David Snelling. Playing squash dressed as Santa is hugely impressive!
